Community Notes
Messages from our church community.
In June 2022, Bella Doumbia, a long-term missionary, visited our church to share the vision of her Journey of Hope of Love. Bella was born and raised among the Mandinka people group in West Africa as a Muslim, but escaped to the United States, gaining religious asylum when she became a Christian. Now, 33 years later, she is taking her experiences and knowledge gained from her MDiv and PhD programs, her personal experiences in multiculturalism and multilingualism, and her guidance from God to go back to the Mandinka people group. She will spread the gospel, and lead a mission in a much-needed trauma healing ministry to the women and children there. If you would like to support Bella’s mission work in this sacred ministry, you can click on her ‘button’ on the on-line giving page, or send a check to First UMC, with Bella’s name on the memo line.
